Who We Are

The ETFO Halton Elementary Teacher Local represents approximately 3,200 elementary teachers working in the Halton District School Board.  The Local advocates for high quality public education that is accessible to all by negotiating and enforcing a collective agreement that enhances the working conditions of our members, and the learning conditions of their students. We also provide support for our members through access to professional resources and professional learning opportunities.  The following priorities of the ETFO Halton Elementary Teacher Local guide form the basis of local activities and events, and guide all decisions made by members of the executive and committees.

The local will:

  • Provide support to all members
  • Encourage the participation of all members in the local
  • Promote public education and the teaching profession
  • Celebrate teachers and their contributions

In a manner which:

  • Fosters positive relationships globally and locally
  • Promotes environmentally friendly practices
  • Promotes diversity and mutual respect through inclusion
  • Is fiscally responsible

These priorities of the local should form the basis of local activities and events, and guide all decisions made by members of the executive and committees.

Vice Presidents each have an area of responsibility, and member calls will be directed to the Vice President for their area. To find out which vice president works with members in your school, click here.
